Product Description
This consumable packet contains a preprinted classroom set of 30 ShutterFolders.
Students make two folds and two cuts to create a display board, project, or work folder.
Option 1: Project or Work Folder
Cumulative Folder to Collect Student Work:
ShutterFolders are printed on 12” x 18” paper. This oversized
paper provides enough space to staple worksheets, maps, internet
printouts, and sheets of notebook paper in the center section.
Blank side-panels can be used to collect important
vocabulary terms needed in daily writing and discussions.
Quarter sheets of key questions, maps, diagrams, charts,
descriptions, explanations, etc., can be anchor-tabbed.
Observe and discuss the map on the back of the shutterfold. Note the longitude and latitude lines.
What is to the east of your state? west? north? south? What is the state capital? Where is it located?
Option 2: Display Board
Use the ShutterFolder to display smaller versions of the same types of things that would be found on a posterboard project or a large, cardboard trifold — titles, labels, pictures, sketches, captions, maps, diagrams, charts, descriptions, explanations, and questions. Remember that quarter and half sheets of notebook paper, photocopy paper, and grid paper fit perfectly on the middle and side panels.
Paper cut into quarter and half sheets is used in Dinah Zike’s
Publishing Center. Quarter sheets can be blank or
printed with maps, charts, diagrams, timelines, portraits,
etc.
