Linear measurement is an area of mathematics that poses difficulties for many students. This booklet involves a focus on linear measurement, including customary and metric units. This dual language Edition has the same content as the English edition. Notes to the teacher and instructional suggestions remain in English. The template labels themselves are in Spanish. We recognize that there are many dialects and preferred Spanish wording dependent on geographical locale, student population served, curricula used, and other factors. On some page headings and on anchor tab labels, you will note that there may be alternate terms or wording used, two ways of saying the same thing. In your teaching you may prefer one term over another.
This Linear Measurement title includes a removable acetate sheet of small transparent rulers that are to be cut out for student use. One side of the acetate contains five customary six-inch rulers; the other side contains five rulers in metric units. These are intended for use as complementary tools for the Notebook Foldables templates. Additional rulers may be purchased separately.
When a Visual Kinesthetic Vocabulary manipulative did not "work" in Spanish, as with a homophone, for example, we opted to leave it in English for potential use as a good second/dual language practice. Whenever feasible, templates include both English and Spanish. If a template is text-heavy, only Spanish is utilized.
This series of Notebooking Central booklets is a response to teacher requests for content-specific Notebook Foldables that:

- provide front tabs to elicit student responses on the back of tabs, underneath tabs, and on the notebook page surrounding the tabs
