The Notebooking Central series of booklets is a response to teachers who asked for Notebook Foldables that: 1) provide graphics to aid comprehension and memory; 2) provide content-specific front tabs that prompt student responses on the back of tabs, underneath tabs, and on the notebook page surrounding tabs; and 3) provide ideas for the use of Notebook Foldables in different content areas.
These booklets are companion pieces for Dinah Zike's Notebook Foldables book and cd, a 2011 Teachers' Choice Award winner.
Genre explorations are excellent ways to expose students to, and immerse them in, many kinds of print and many kinds of literature. This booklet gives special focus to fictional narrative text. Use the graphics to serve as provocative springboards for students to widen and deepen their examinations of multiple genres. Duplicate the pages you consider most important and use suggestions from other pages to generate your own ideas.
